Shinran Shonin Day (Shuso Gotan E)

Shinran Shonin unknowingly founded Shin Buddhism almost 800 years ago.  As a young boy being raised by his uncle, Shinran was accepted to become a monk on Mt. Hiei in Kyoto, Japan, but after 20 years of monastic life, Shinran learned of the Monk Honen and went to study under him.  Honen taught that the path to enlightenment was best gained by
