Project Dana

Project Dana provides a variety of support services through a corps of trained volunteers, guided by the principle of "Dana," which combines selfless giving and compassion in contributing towards the well-being of frail elderly, disabled persons, and family caregivers.

Established: In September 1992 Wahiawa Hongwanji Mission joined Project Dana which was established in 1989 by Moiliili Hongwanji Mission.

Activities/Services: Hospital and Care Home Visitations, volunteer training sessions, home and telephone visits, home safety assessments, light housekeeping, minor home repairs, caregiver respite, and transportation assistance.

Notable Projects: Hosting of Long Term Care Patients from Wahiawa General Hospital at Obon, Gift Drive drop site.


Meets: Hospital Visits every 3rd Thursday of the month.
